What's the net economic gain of the New York Fed to the New York economy? Is that not another federal benefit / form of welfare? What about the economic impact of Washington, DC on Maryland and Virginia? How much of the "get back" is military spending on things that are not strategically or economically able to be placed in high population density blue states?

This argument is pointless, the blue states benefit in other ways besides direct transfers or aid. Also, if everyone got out what they put in what would be the point of the Union anyway?

He's somewhat standing behind his comments, saying that they weren't elegantly stated but accurate none the less. I'm proud of him. Obama backtracked all over the place with his "you didn't build that comment" and it just made him look weak. Mitt should stand by this one, it'll blow over by the end of the week anyway.

Yeah, I don't see how any of this is an insult. He merely stated that there was no way he was going to convince 47% of Americans who stood behind Obama that they should vote for him (Romney).
