My first wish is a consumption tax. Second, is a fair tax. Scrap the entire tax code (700 Billion compliance cost) and institute a 10% or 20% tax rate across the board, for every source of income, as a Constitutional amendment. Everyone pays. No exemptions. Government would become much leaner and efficient, overnight.

Good point.
However, if there is ever some major change in the tax code, somebody is going to get the short end of the stick. Personally, I'm in favor of a tax system which more evenly spreads the costs and isn't immorally "progressive".... flat tax with everyone getting the same exclusion, consumption tax.
One consolation... tax-deferred retirement plan money would receive the favorable treatment of a consumption tax.

A 2013 paper in Environmental Research Letters reviewed 11,944 abstracts of scientific papers matching "global warming" or "global climate change". They found 4,014 which discussed the cause of recent global warming, and of these 97.1% endorsed the consensus position.[119]
