DBC is a narrow basket and the RICI is very broad. However, they are close beta's of one another. The DBC only has like 4 commodity sectors in it and the RICI has every commodity sector and then some. Rogers has also done specialized commodity sector indexes that are not as broad like a Rogers Metal index and a Grain index ---however the CME has not listed them as of yet.
