Robert Hoffman's S&P500 Technical Analysis for August 12th, 2008

Quote from thatsmyopinion:

No, no illusions about anyone handing me anything. However the guy has provided more of a service to the trading community than most I've ever seen.

So I'm not really sure other than jealousy, what the problem is? From what I can tell he's been far more informative than most of the people charging a lot of money for their services.

So my challenge to you and your alter ego Aaron is where do you post your daily commentary so that I and everyone else may review it? That's my opinion.

my commentary is here on et. I posted some calls that worked and some didnt

but I dont make calls that are based on the price hitting 10 inches 'resistence levels' and then patting myself on the back on how great my 'analysis' was so I can recruit gullible daytrading newbies to boost my sense of self importance

"I never traded this so I want to know if I'm reading this right. looking at the Nov contract at 97.84, you get 16 basis points($666 per contract) if the fed stays pat and you lose 9 basis points $374 if they hike somewhere along the way. So you are essentially getting 2-1 on no hike(you might make more if they ease, or lose more if they hike more but lets leave that out for now). Did I got it right?"

That's the kind of stuff that makes you so hot?

Please start an official thread today in your name and give your "analysis" the night before. Also please include tips on psychology, setups, where you expect the market to go and what levels will be important to break above or below for the following day.

I'm looking forward to seeing your greatness and calls in action since you and your alter ego Aaron appear to be so wise and concerned for our well being. I will commend you and your greatness when you do as much for free as the snp trader dude, or Brian Shannon, or a few others do.

So far, I'm not seeing much out of you. That's my opinion

Well thank you Aaron, we finally get to the bottom of this, it's jealousy heh? I don't see you cheerleading his calls where he gave his opinion and was right far more often than not, but you're the first to cry when his opinion was wrong.

I find the most interesting part of this whole thing is that you hate the guy so much and yet you watch him. I think that's absolutely hilarious. If he was really so horrible, I don't think you would waste your oh so precious time if you were a real trader.

Nor do I think if he didn't have plenty to offer would he have over 2400 or whatever subscribers. So remind me again how you can quote him if you don't watch him since he's so horrible?

By the way, please let me know where I may find your daily analysis of the market? I'd like to see that since you appear to be way better than the snp trader dude and every one else around! That's my opinion.

Hey hows it going Robert?

That's the best you can come up with? Very disappointing. Does that mean you and your alter ego Daal aren't starting a thread to post the items mentioned in my last post? That's what I thought. Hard to have an intelligent conversation with an idiot. I see what the others mean about people like you. Useless and uniformative albeit entertaining.

Look this guy post’s chart all day long, let’s see the trades, until then he a phony. I’ve been there I know.

This is one tough business; he try’s to make it look simple. Your emotions are what causes problems all humans have emotions, that’s what makes this game so damm tough.

He syas he trades size in the ES.If he posted his trades that corresponded to the trades he says he made that’s another story, until then he’s a fake.

I don't claim to be as smart as you, Daal, or snp trader, but the dude says a lot of stuff about psychology that has helped me. So unless you can help me that much, you're blowing as much air as anyone. That's my opinion

Why so much hostility? First of all, Trading is not and will never be a game that you can follow someone and duplicate success. The hope that it can happen, is why the people that make money selling systems that don't work get rich. When, a trader you realizes this they stop being just another trader and become a profitable trader. I learned this early on in my career. If you can take information and apply it to you own trading, that is how you make money. You might not trade off of technicals but there are many quants that do. I definately think that they are an important variable. If they made money on a specific level they traded makes no difference to me. In fact it helps me because if there is a technical level that is broken and I know about it, I profit from the panic of others. By looking outside of your own box, taking variables that the market in general will be looking at and trade with your own set of disciplines, entries, exits, and ideas, thats how you make money!
