Because of dumb slogans like Defund the Police, the crime wave narrative cost Dems a lot of votes there.

Completely wrong since GOP never cared about deficits when they are in charge, they only care about cutting social spending which they did under Trump's term.
First, we are talking about 'inspiring' candidates. Barnes was supposed to be inspirational.
Second, Biden won Wisconsin and lost Ohio. Barnes lost a state where Biden won.
Third, how does Sherrod Brown count as a progressive when he is not even up for court expansion?
