RM's occasional market calls...

Glad to see RM exited the trade at a favorable spot.

First rule of trading in my not so humble opinion is risk management above all and I believe or assume RM did this correctly by starting small and stating he would add upon heat accordingly.

Even digging into my IB monthly account statement I can't find any additional fees charged this month beyond

Other Fees -11.70" which amounts to nowhere near 4% of anything and may not even be related to the DGAZ trade.
 
But before you go, please do point me in the direction of a current 'market calls' thread, anywhere on the net, with a higher success ratio than this one. It would become a valuable resource to me.

Big positions from a pro trader indeed... on your IB online statement you can download in the account management there is a section "Non direct hard to borrow details " where u can see day by day and per security what you are charged on your shorts. You can also check the borrow fee from the order tickets and from a couple more places on IB, it's been around 4% for the duration of this thread for DGAZ. It shows 4.62 right now
I pay above 5k a month in interests to IB, if you pay 11usd , obviously we can wonder about your position size.

I believe the trader has to pay borrow fees until the trade is settled (T+3) so there might be more borrow fees to come
 
If you have me confused for a piker, why even bother with anything I say? Please do assume the worst about people somewhere else. You actually do have a point about me not completely understanding my account statements and fees charged as well as I should, but it doesn't mean what you think it does.

A few years back I tried to gain a powerful ally (whomever was piggybacking my calls with massive size) who clearly already respected me. Does everyone who attempts to gain a powerful ally do so out of 'financial desperation', or is this a wise course of action for anyone in any financial position? You're assuming the worst by default, and no one likes defending themselves against ridiculous false assumptions.

no clue about the borrow fees - even after I mentionned them you're not familiar enough with those to locate them on your IB account
no fees paid that would amount to a shadow of position to make a living on, especially one entered with a conviction high enough to motivate you to post it in this thread
Disappearing when the trade went over 50% in the red before coming back and claimed u nailed a winner when the price went back down

For sure I won't confuse you again for a pro equity trader
Better set your phone on silence, new investors gonna be ringing day and night after such a showing.

I have nothing invested in this, but I do believe that your rebuttal is a breath of fresh air here at ET. You raise a very interesting issue that I think warrants some sort of explanation. Perhaps as Daal suggests, borrow fees might be forthcoming. But your other points about 5k the borrow fees vs. $11 I also found interesting. I have zero experience with this, but this discrepancy is an eye opener.

I do hope RM would address this a little better. His performance in this thread seems to be top notch, but the points you raise seem to be hard facts. The classic reply of saying that essentially its not worth replying to is used often here at ET and it frankly sucks.

Actually if RM is only looking as his month to date mark to market statement, he is probably looking at his November fees.
Best is to have a look at the hard to borrow fee details to see what DGAZ borrow cost him, which might be more than 11bucks

Actually 5k plus is total monthly interests paid to IB, most of those would be margin interests rather than borrow fee.
