I'm looking for a retest of 18, I'm not trying to profit from time decay. So you're right, it is different.
 
UNXL: Yeah, had I been around I would have mentioned that it's not the same trade at all, since the whole high-theta deal was my entire reason for taking this trade in the first place.

So I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty. And if I were to take my UNXL short puts gains and run right now (UNXL currently at $16.93) it would be one ugly win for sure. But I'm staying with this one into the number, with this trade done tomorrow no matter what happens.

There's something I probably should have mentioned going into this: The size you can do with this particular trade MUST be kept relatively small due to news risk. It wouldn't be a black swan at all for UNXL to theoretically open below $10 tomorrow morning (or any other day this week), and you have to be positioned small enough so that such an open would ruin your day or even your week... but it would NOT ruin your year or ruin your life.
 
UNXL:I intend to cover some of the 18 puts into spike rallies, with the intention of letting all the rest of them expire worthless... hopefully.

And now UNXL hits 18, as I originally thought it would. I probably shouldn't have taken the trade anyway, since risk/reward wasn't all that great.

Common on RM!!! Are you falling victim to the classic trading flaw....over trading? I thought you mentioned there were only a few good trades per year.

With RM's posted size on UNXL he will make more than $10k on this trade. I would say he is not overtrading but just has a string of good trading ideas that he is nice enough to share.
 
Pbj- Thanks for clearing that up, and Datradr no harm done.

So now I no longer give two shits and a koran where UNXL goes from here- It can go to $3 now if that's what it needs to do, because my trade is officially done now.
