Rithmic Announces Nonrenewal of Zen-Fire Use

I was unable to connect to Zenfire today. As a matter of fact, I have been having data feed issues over the past 3 months. I noticed that my charts would not update etc. Many times my renko bars would be stuck. I also have kinetick data feeds for which I pay monthly. I don't have any data feed issues with them.

I am switching to Global Futures since the guy keeps calling me for a long time. I think they have good customer service. I have opted to go with CQG.

The ZenFire updates eliminated the need for Rithmic as part of the ZenFire
solution. As ZenFire continued to receive client requests to add new
functionality and connect to new exchanges, they developed their own
internal software solution to enhance the ZenFire trading engine.

Support for legacy 3rd party platforms no longer compliant with ZenFire
including R | Trader will be discontinued on December 31st, 2013. For
those traders that have used R | Trader to manage risk, our new Risk
Management terminal available through the free MirusTrader not only
replaces R | Trader, but significantly expands the tools you have available.
As a Mirus client, you can transition immediately to the free MirusTrader
to experience the advanced ZenFire capabilities.

The futures industry has been changing rapidly for years and Mirus is proud to continue to provide technology advances to further equip self-directed traders with tools designed to help level the playing field with professional traders. Your trust in our services is paramount and, to be blunt, we have fallen short in meeting your expectations along with the expectations we hold internally.

While many users have been able to connect to ZenFire through NinjaTrader, intermittent disconnects are also being experienced. As the stability of your trading solution remains our number one priority, we suggest you continue to avoid live trading on NinjaTrader through Friday, January 3rd.

For clients with positions or working orders, you can login to MirusTrader with your ZenFire username and password to actively manage your account.
ZenFire has been working diligently to reestablish stable connectivity for all NinjaTrader users, and we are acutely aware of the critical impact these interruptions have on our traders. Many of those we have spoken with have been extremely understanding of these technical issues, however we also understand your disappointment in the service disruption which is fully warranted.

We firmly believe that the ZenFire technology update will be a significant step forward for our traders. That being said, there have been obvious short-comings in regards to the current performance. ZenFire is working tirelessly to resolve these issues and we appreciate your ongoing patience.

As a reminder, the potential does remain for delays in market data for both Eurex and ICE. ZenFire expects that these delays will be significantly reduced by Sunday, January 5th. For clients with positions or working orders on Eurex and ICE, order execution is live. Please exercise caution in these markets.

Finally, ZenFire will be undergoing system maintenance this evening and traders will be unable to connect to ZenFire or login to MirusTrader for short periods of time during these updates.

I just logged in @ 5:48 EST Saturday morning and Ninja connected to AMP/CQG and filled in the rest of my charts with data since I had stopped trading earlier than the close on Friday.
 
I have also opened an account with Amp and am just waiting on balance transfer.

The account application was easy and approved quickly. Support seemed pretty decent through live chat (aren't they always to new customers?!) and so far all has been plain sailing.

I will be using the Rithmic feed with MC and will let you know how I get on with them. Commissions are very good and hopefully they will not have any dodgy situations like Mirus did with Zenfire!

If not use the Rithmic feed which is definitely accessible during the weekends. They offer that too...

With your lifetime NinjaTrader key, you continue to be able to use all features, such as Chart Trader and OCO bracket orders with your AMP/CQG data connection.

Main difference is the availability of OCO "bracket" orders and Chart Trader (trade from the chart) - These features are only available with the subscription version.

The Free Version will include full charting and DOM, but you will have to manually manage any working orders.

ZenFire Status Update:

Dear Traders,

ZenFire connectivity has stabilized and is available for live trading as of Sunday, January 5th.

Although not expected, instances of intermittent disconnects are still possible for applications connecting through the ZenFire API including, but not limited to, NinjaTrader. Should you experience an interruption, MirusTrader remains available to all ZenFire users and serves as an alternative platform to check your positions and manage your account. You can login with your ZenFire username and password to launch MirusTrader.

Significant progress has been made to restore connectivity following the service interruptions you have experienced over the past week.

On Sunday, December 29th, ZenFire experienced a hardware failure that impacted their gateway servers which are required for users to connect. This hardware was replaced and full redundancy was restored Monday evening.

On Wednesday, January 1st, additional software upgrades were made by ZenFire to further expand risk management capabilities. This update uncovered a previously unknown bug which added tens of thousands of calculations per second to the system. This excessive system strain triggered a partial outage on Thursday, January 2nd, which disrupted API gateways causing the disconnects on NinjaTrader and other API platforms that many of you experienced.

Traders were still able to connect and manage their positions through MirusTrader as this gateway was less impacted, however many clients were unaware of this new capability. The calculation processes that initiated the excessive system strain have been significantly reduced and connectivity through these API gateways has stabilized.

Please be aware that delays are still being reported in market data for Eurex and ICE. ZenFire expects these delays to be further reduced in coming days, but has halted order execution in the interim to ensure these markets are not traded on delayed prices. Mirus clients with active positions have been enabled for order execution and have the ability to manage their positions in both NinjaTrader or MirusTrader.

The ZenFire team continues to work to fully restore performance and additional system maintenance can be expected in the coming days during off market hours. During these periods, traders may be unable to connect to ZenFire or access MirusTrader for short periods of time.
