Risk. What is it really?

the gov owns so much forest land, they dont have to raise much taxes.
WATCH out for bears+ bear season in the markets + in the south USA starts in SEPT/OCT maybe a bear killer /markets or 4 footed\bearsLOL:D:D:D:D:D:D,:caution::caution::caution::caution:
Bears don't give a shit who owns the land.
Got Blacks and Grizzlies wandering through my back yard.
Like the market if your not paying attention a bear could come out of nowhere.

When your actual outcome differs from the expected return, then that is a “risk”. There is risk everywhere, whether it's trading or life. There is an equal chance of winning and losing at the same time. Just know that when there is a greater risk, then there is a greater possibility of huge returns.

In my opinion risk are of two types:
  • Positive Risk: the events that may have a positive impact on our trading. Higher the risk, higher the chance of profit.
  • Negative Risk: when you trade without having any knowledge and end up in losses.

No risk without exposure.
Risk is everything that increases the frequency or the magnitude of a loss.

For example …
Counter trend increases risk while momentum diminish it.

Over betting vs under betting
Other factors like Liquidity, Volatility, News …
Or even drugs, testosterone :p

I believe that we cannot avoid the risk in trading, because sometimes loss is inevitable but the risk may be reduced by learning how to determine best trading time and price to enter in the market and by determining the exit point on the right place.
