I watched Beware Mr. Baker and holy crap, what a nut. Eric Clapton mentioned how he loved the guy, but couldn't be around as he feared for his sobriety. The guy was smoking while using an oxygen tank!
In my youth when I played drums( very poorly) I idolized him, John Bonham, Keith Moon, and Mitch Mitchell.

Yeah he was a crazy bastard, often hilarious. I think besides the jazz drummers of the time, as far as straight Rock, he was the best of those guys, him and Mitch Mitchell. Although, he would never consider himself a rock drummer.
