I do not know why the UK rejected Brown, but I had good impression of him.

How about the Iraq war for which the UK spent money, and therefore the current austerity? It was Blair who made the dossier of weapons of mass destruction, and the ridiculous 1 hour time frame for Saddam to attack with WMDs, which I guess even Blair knew were not true.
