Rio favela warfare

Apparently a crime boss in prison sent the word out to start chaos.. the idea is to torch random cars and buses blocking entrances to the favela which are on hills. over 40 cars/buses/trucks have been burned. 30 people killed.

I still claim that Rio is a safe place to live/visit.. these operations are far away from the beach areas (Ipanema). Tourists here would not know anything unusual is happening.

Youtube doesnt have very good videos of the shootouts but this is the best one ive found.

rio is dangerous as hell, ipanema or not. ever heard of arrastoes? no amount of 'common sense' prevents you from unwittingly being part of the craziness that goes on there.

they're either going to need to heavily subsidize the traffickers or it will be full out war... they've chosen war. much blood will spill before this is over.
