RightEdge vs. QuantDeveloper

Quote from Joel Reymont:

I should be able to do a feature comparison sometime soon, once I start on a EasyLanguage -> OpenQuant backend for my translator. I only translate to NinjaScript right now but it's the same C#.

Joel,
can you tell us some more details about these translators?

It's a translator from EasyLanguage to C#. The C# that's generated uses the NinjaTrader libraries and functions so you can only run the output in NinjaTrader.

Other backends should be possible going forward, i.e. code that could run in other trading packages based on .NET (OpenQuant, RightEdge, etc.) as well as NeoTicker, etc.

For now there's just the EasyLanguage to NinjaTrader C# translator and I'm preparing to release an alpha version on a web site. You can email me at joelr1 at gmail and I'll let you know once I'm ready.

Thanks, Joel

I guess it's all about what you're doing. If you're looking to tinker with a few ideas for fun/educational purposes, then go with Wealth-Lab. If you're looking to put serious capital into a strategy and you want a robust platform, then QD is very nice. As for the $5k/month, that's what the market will bear. Why? The product works!

In the past, I know that SmartQuant offered a demo of all the products in the suite. While I don't know for sure, I would bet that QuantHouse offers something similar.

Good luck,
polr

Thanks for the info. 5k a month sounds reasonable if it's a full fledge suite.

I've been playing around with RE for the last little bit. One thing I would like to talk about is the cutomer service. They are extremely helpfull, the support is great, you have a question they'll help you out with it.

This is big in my books.

Looking forward to the product release with the full set of features.

If you develop a EL to C# for OQ count me in,

I'm not sure how big of a market that is. I may add it eventually but I can't estimate when. My ultimate goal is to be able to translate from any trading language into any other, within limitations of individual languages.

Do you have a grammar for EL?
