Right Wing and Anti Intellectualism

Quote from Maverick74:

Yeah I don't get that either. Like you said, Chris Mathews thinks he is on the 40 yard line. LOL. There are a few liberals who are very proud to say they are a liberal and I absolutely respect them for it. But what is it with all these people who pretend not to be what they are. RCG is not pretending to be some middle of the road centrist. He is saying he is a libertarian which is pretty far right on the politcal spectrum.

Maybe one day he will feel more comfortable and "come out" and tell us the truth. :)

Libertarianism is pretty far to the right???? Really????:D

Freedom of speech and censorship
The Libertarian Party supports unrestricted freedom of speech and is opposed to any kind of censorship. The party describes the issue in its website: "We defend the rights of individuals to unrestricted freedom of speech, freedom of the press and the right of individuals to dissent from government itself.... We oppose any abridgment of the freedom of speech through government censorship, regulation or control of communications media." The party claims it is the only political party in the United States "with an explicit stand against censorship of computer communications in its platform."[37]
[edit]LGBT issues
The Libertarian Party advocates repealing all laws that control or prohibit homosexuality.[39] According to the Libertarian Party's platform, "Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the government's treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws."[38]
In 2009, the Libertarian Party of Washington encouraged voters to approve Washington Referendum 71 that extended LGBT relationship rights. According to the party, withholding domestic partnership rights from same-sex couples is a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution.[40] In September 2010, in the light of the failure to repeal "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy (which bans openly gay people from the military) during the Obama administration, the Libertarian Party urged gay voters to stop supporting the Democrats.[41] The policy was repealed by the end of 2010.[42]
Outright Libertarians is an association of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered people who are active in the Libertarian Party. Gay Libertarian Richard Sincere has pointed to the long record of support for homosexuality in the party. Several LGBT political candidates have run for office on the Libertarian Party ticket.[43]
[edit]Pornography
The Libertarian Party views attempts by government to control obscenity or pornography as "an abridgment of liberty of expression"[37] and opposes any government intervention to regulate it. According to Libertarian National Committee Chairman Mark Hinkle, "Federal anti-obscenity laws are unconstitutional in two ways. First, because the Constitution does not grant Congress any power to regulate or criminalize obscenity. And second, because the First Amendment guarantees the right of free speech."[44]
[edit]Prostitution
The Libertarian Party supports the legalization of prostitution.[32][33][34][35] Many men and women[45][46][47][48] with background in prostitution and activists for sex workers' rights, such as Norma Jean Almodovar [45][46] and Starchild[47][48], have run for office on the Libertarian Party ticket or are active members of the party. Ex-call girl Norma Jean Almodovar ran on Libertarian Party ticket in Los Angeles during the 1980s and was actively supported by the party. Mark Hinkle described her as being the most able "of any Libertarian" "to generate publicity".[45] The Massachusetts Libertarian Party was one of the few organizations to support a 1980s campaign to repeal prostitution laws.[49]

Quote from Maverick74:

This is hyperbole and you know it. You don't like someone's politics and you call them a member of storm front. That's getting old. There was one poster who you referenced and I agreed with you he was a racist piece of shit. One guy! So the Stormfront reference is completely uncalled for.

Nah, you just like your head in the sand John, and that really is too bad.

Quote from Maverick74:

Our government is assassinating US citizens without a fair trial!!!!! They have taken away far more freedoms then they have given. I will not agree with you on that.

Talk about hyperbole:D

Too much Alex Jones:)

Quote from Maverick74:

Ughhh!!!!! Ron, it was the GOVERNMENT that enacted the Jim Crow laws. Jesus man, you act like billy bob redneck just out of sheer boredom one day wrote his own laws. It was the very government you want to empower that created those segregationist policies.

Actually to be more accurate, it was state governments that allowed those laws, which lead to federal intervention, and that is a very good thing.

That's bullshit. Come on man, I'm one of the more fair people on this message board and you know that Ron. You go to such extremes to label every one on here right of center a racist. Is that really fair? You hold grudges against people like Lucrum like a child. I use to do that when I was 12 years old then I grew up. I've had my fights with people on here, but it's not personal. Hell, I've met over 30 guys on ET in person. I'm sure more then half of them don't agree with my politics. Whenever you get into an argument you don't like, you just pull out the race card. Why do you do that? Even if you were 150% convinced that person was a racist, why does it matter? Argue the issue or don't. But when you start calling every single person on the right a racist, how can we have any kind of dialogue here?

Quote from RCG Trader:

Sometimes the government has access to more resources, which means more research, which means a better informed decision.
Occasionally yes, mostly no.

And Lucrum, running around the yelling the word gay, or some such derivative, is not exactly and ass kicking.
That's odd, you claimed "victory" based almost entirely on doing just that yourself.

It's easy to see why you're a liberal. You have no concept of intellectual honesty or logic.

Quote from RCG Trader:

Anyone from right rails about any regulatory agency in existence. This is what is truly ridiculous. None of these agencies would exist if there were no need for them.

So how does government help you run your life better. Pick any agency in D.C., and there is your answer.

LOL

Jeezus H Christ that was a stupid ill informed ignorant statement.

Great, now you support assassinating US citizens. Funny, I doubt you would have approved that if Bush did it. Funny how that works. Even Chris Mathews doesn't support this.

Again, John, you seem to be a selective reader. If I use the word racist in a sentence and attach it to an alias....then there is cause. If I call Rennick a racist for saying, the darkies are out of control, then he had that coming.

Lucrum not a week ago suggested Obama's would be assasin take another shot at it. Many issues that get brought up on here have the kernel in racism, and if I see it, I will call it. Plain and simple.

Easy, stick to the issues. I left Lucrum alone because it is obvious he has some difficulties, but of course, his fixation on homosexuality got the better of him.......so if anyone is a child it is him, but he is right winger, so.....
