Hi, as some of you may already know. I am Mark Cuban, and I just wanted to say that if you are thinking about starting a business, or investing in something, or maybe even trading, I highly encourage you to go out and learn all you can about whatever it is you dream about making money in. Over 30 years ago, when I started the company Microsolutions, I studied and did so much research I thought my brain was going to explode. But because of that hard work my company made over 30 million in revenue. And that was just from that 1 company alone.

I highly encourage anyone who has a dream to go out there and learn everything you can about whatever it is you plan on making money in. Whether it be trading, or starting a business, or investing, please learn as much as you can before diving in. I've had friends who sold their house because they thought that trading would make them rich, and ended up losing everything. Please don't be like them. Know what you are trading, and know what you are investing in before throwing your money at it. Whether it be futures or commodities or even cryptocurrency. I don't believe in cryptocurrency but I know many who have succeeded in that game. Have a plan, and stick to the plan. Trading does not make you rich, but being smart with managing your money does.

I hope this helps. This is a great time to learn investing and although I have a very busy life I will stop by here from time to time to help wherever I can. But you have the be the one that does the research, the math, and the work. God bless.

From what I recall, Cuban made a bundle in the ".com" boom and cashed out before it all came a cropper. Good for him.

He's right, of course... and "having an idea and working it to success" so long as achieving success along those lines is "worth it". (There are lots of "successful endeavors" that won't pay much money... kind of like hobbies. Shouldn't be dedicating yourself to one of those if you care about the financial results.)

But as to "Trading does not make you rich".... well, it CAN. Doesn't often because of its many challenges, but... YES, it can... so long as your definition of "rich" is $10-$50Million or so!

Not sure if you are the real Mark Cuban but I agree that the chances of getting rich from trading are slim. Maybe 1 in a 1,000 will achieve that. It does however provide an opportunity for people to generate an alternative income stream to survive in these difficult times. Of course, the trader needs to work his/her way up to a baseline level of consistency where they can be reasonably confident of having positive cashflow on some periodic basis (weekly, monthly or quarterly).

If a trader can work up to some level of consistency then it is better than owning any business - minimum overhead, no employees, no need to market to get customers, etc.

Yes you are right about that. And that's the point I was making. Don't squander your life savings on something you don't know anything about. Take the time to learn and be patient, because succeeding is not about how much money you make, it's about how you make it, and that's what gets you on the road to financial freedom. You need to be passionate about what you do and be fully committed in what you pursue. And this is how your dreams become a reality. God bless
 
I have spent blood, sweat & so many tears working on my trading craft. It has been bitter sweet ride like sleeping with life & death In the same bed. I never gave up cause I’m in love with the journey and who I’m becoming. My life revolves around this and my dream is to master it. I am a high school drop out kid who came from section 8 now I’m trading full time.

everyday is motivation to become stronger than who I was yesterday.
