Right NOW is a classic time to understand and trade "Price TA"

I respectfully disagree.

While it's true 90% of traders fail, it's the other 10% that ultimately drives the market. If the 90% were the catalyst, they probably wouldn't be going broke.
It's impossible via reading indicators or price action to diferentiate between the 10% & 90%.
All you have to go by is price and volume.
Price is price, no clues here.
Volume can be deceptive and frequently is deceptive.
Volume can have several meanings.

Mick, are you able to define in short what your style consists of?

Not to derail Scat but as an opposing style.
Stocks long only swing trader, mostly metals but depends on what sectors being hot.
So I predominantly trade hot stocks.
What the whole market is doing is very important, so correlations is part of it.

Individually, I don't study a stocks price action or any indicators other than stop levels.

I follow no gurus!!! :)

No price action, price is price, volume is misleading and no indicators

Fundamentals, Yay or Nay??

Funnymentals are funny, sometimes useful, other times not.

Example, once there's super hyping going on, throw out funnymentals.
There are many emotional occasions and trades.

Markets / stocks start off hesitant, they often begin in fear, that's when funnies are more important as traders carefully pick and choose.

Then later on the uninformed mob enter the scene whereby, flying by the seat of their pants, using PA and MA's they choose hot running (expensive) stocks and parabolically make them even hotter.

Now a trader would be mad not to join in the feeding frenzy, because meat is easily and quickly made available.

Yup, everything is already baked into price. By the time you realize what's happening, you're already left in the dust.

Not true. "Everything is baked into the price up to that point", is true enough. But the parts you want to know and trade are all based upon what I've recommended for years...

"Buy Support
Sell Resistance
Chase Breakouts
Trade with stops"

True today as it has always been.

What was the name of your Q&A thread from years ago?I remember you discussed origins of your name at the beginning etc and then I remember finding it quite informative. In HOF threads I believe.

I don't recall the name of that thread... so far back. I answered maybe 200 questions over that weekend. Not long ago I tried to run it again... virtually zero response. I guess all the ETers understand it now and don't have any more questions... :D

My first reaction was,"Well thanks Captain Obvious",but there may be some genius in your wisdom, and imho,it's largely dependent on ones "money management"...

Gun to my head,Ild probably add trade with the trend..

You say "it's obvious", but is it? I believe the biggest problem in people accepting "Price TA"... is that they really don't understand the concepts of "support" and "resistance". They genuinely cannot "see the forest for the trees".

When I say it's obvious,of course I am talking in theory...

There are very very few who make a real living from trading,no different than professional athletes
