Russia hasn't fully recovered from Afghanistan, as their shit military is showing now.While it may have been Chinas plan to build a great military alliance with Russia seeing the shit show that is currently Russia's military its unlikely the case now.China needs an equal partner,not a charity case they will have to fully support and carry.Russia is depending on Iran for military help, using civilian buses as military vehicles,emptying prisons for troops etc,who in the hell needs a military partner like that

See Tony, your problem is your brain has been conditioned to see the world only through the eyes of the American culture we all enjoy. That's all well and good, but the rest of the world doesn't necessarily see things like that. Keep in mind that if history is any guide, the Russian people can endure immense hardships for quite a long time. Putin hearkens to that age, and like it or not, his people will have to also.

Who cares what secret deal has China struck with them.If China wants to deplete their resources or depend on a loser like Russia let them.
First, Russia is no real threat to the US. Second, we shouldn't be spending 800B on defense. We shouldn't be in all those places around the world. I remember when my liberal friends were the anti-war party. Now it seems roles are reversed for some reason.
