He's giving them armament and aid. I mean that's easy. It's bi-partisan. Anyone can do that. You or I could do that. That does not a great statesman make.

I honestly don't see anything that merits the word "great". And before you go there... the West would have all rallied behind Ukraine regardless of who the U.S. President was, so don't even try to use that either. What you have to answer is... (and we'll never know because "what ifs" are "what ifs")... but I wonder what the opinion of the experts that really know these type of things is regarding if Trump had been President. Would Putin have invaded? I dunno, but if I had to guess, I don't think he would have.

Xi said China will take back Taiwan,Biden has made it clear that The US will defend Tawain. Xi hasn't attacked Taiwan,and likely won't do so as long as Biden is President.
Iran was nipped in the bud until Trumps dumb ass allowed them to restart thier nuclear program.Still, there is no major problems from Iran right now.The best nip in the bud for Iran was Saddam/Iraq,until another republican president fucked that up.
We obviously can't afford it, but whether it's right or not.... I'm not smart enough to know. There sure are a lot of intelligent folks that say we need to do this, that it's crucial to our national security. I guess we have to take their word for it.

That's not necessarily true. If China and Russia build some mutual alliance, and China is filling Russia's coffers by buying all their natural resources.... Russia can play the long game in Ukraine, and rebuild their arsenals. With better equipment. Sanctions won't stop China from supplying the latest high tech gadgets and gizmos, and I suspect they have them to give if so inclined.
Now... what we do have to worry about is depleting our own arsenals. This stuff is not made overnight. There's a huge lead time on it. Again, I'm no scholar, but from the standpoint of a global match of chess, Russia and China may be controlling the board.
How did we defeat the Soviet Union? We made them go broke. What if that is Putin's plan...? He can send cold war era equipment and young soldiers into a meat grinder for a long time. He doesn't care, especially if China tells him they have his back. I don't think Xi is shedding any tears about us depleting our stores of weapons and going further and further in debt.
Look, don't rail me... I'm just playing devils advocate here, postulating what ifs. One thing I am sure of though... actually a few things. One, the defense companies and their large shareholders are getting stupid fat off of all this, and two... it's probably a good idea to embrace the reality that any information any of us receive should never be taken at face value until it's ran thru a sieve of critical thought and analysis.
