Changed the way I believed the market operated, that was the first thing. Realised that markets are more predictable than my previous experience. Imo, algo's operate the markets more than we think, news may cause a blip but often it marches right on regardless and often contrary to opinion.
I don't use indicators as such in an algo, I use more a sentiment structure such as levels of volatility, but again not an indicator, it is a score or sum of how bars behave over certain lookback times.
Coding indicators made me realise indicators dont work (for me), I spent a few years coding my own indicators as well as variations of existing indicators and found the results were very poor if not just random.
 
all i use is my eyes and try to see the trend..... which side is stronger bull or bear and be with that side

that is analysis nothing technical about it.

now you will say why did i lose money all this time...because all this time i used something else
 
As I trade stocks and my universe of stocks is large compared to futures and fx my method is basically statistics, comparing stocks against each other, and they get rated as such. This method would not work with fx.

i agree....how can anything make sense when anything on one time frame is different on another time frame...support on 5 min is not support on 15 min or on hourly.

but anything which moves...in one direction with some speed will continue for some time until it rests or moves again an any direction.

that is the only thing i see and i scalp....i take the first profit i get....20 cents, 2 usd or 5 usd.

i have no stop and no target

this is not easy but it is the only valid premise in technical analysis

that is what i am doing NOW and that is why there is no point in posting any charts

yes that is what i used to do with stocks

when 9/11 hit everything fell 30% to 70%

my stock fell 1%......it may work in a way with fx too.....but the universe is very small so there may not be any significant advantage.

i used to love when markets fell....i would buy those stocks that did NOT fall

i cannot afford to trade stocks it needs min 30000 usd....no rule in India but you need that much to even have a chance
