Reviews for Avatar is eroding like an option

I took some friends with kids to see it in 3d , not Imax though. Not bad, good special effects/graphics, it will make $ for sure.

Some hated it, most liked it over at RT.

I saw Avatar and loved it. ....... Go watch it's complicated or some other crappy romantic comedy.

dude I won't even leave the house if I can't sit for two hours at a chic flick. What's wrong with you?

I have a few extra Hugh Grant posters in my collection if you want one.

Bet it doesn't take long to degenerate into the typical shoot em up.

See the movie. The action is actually lackluster and a small piece of the movie at the end. Not exactly impressive.

ya, i want to see three hour of computer generated bs, thats how i want to spend 3 hrs out my life. when's the next one. and the next..next . before you know it you've wasted a sig amount of lifetime :.enjoyD

You know, as usual for most people, when you have expectations of something due to hoopla created by critics and media, you can only be dissappointed when the bar is set so high. Unfortunately they have hyped this movie up like it's the second coming, so I can see how some may not have said it was all that.

However, I am one who HATES film critics and media hype, the movies they hate, I usually love. That being said, I thought Avatar was a great movie, the story was good, the effects in 3D were great and it didn't seem like it was long, the time went by quick. I would certainly rank this up in the top 5 movies I have seen in the past several years. I will try to go see it again on an IMAX 3D screen while it is out.

I just found out the second movie in this story is already coming out next year......

"Globalists Strike Back - Prawns vs. Navi"

"The story of a globalist corprotocracy sending enslaved but battle ready Prawns to attack the Navi on their home turf - the fight for Unobtainium is NOT over!"

:D :p :D

LOL!

The movie is essentially propaganda via Pocahontas story with high end special effects. Humans are bad, they consume too much, but not James Cameron, cause you know, he is like important with his $500 million dollar movies.

Overall, I did not think it was a great movie. The story was boring & predictable, there was nowhere near enough action that I expected, most of the acting was weak, there was little originality and parts were just plain boring. Watching the masses fawning all over this slightly above average flick is like watching simpletons being amazed by pretty lights.

I did not see it in 3D, so I am still considering to see it at an IMAX because I heard that the movie really makes a breakthrough in 3D movie experience. However, I would rather see Sherlock Holmes again, a much better film.

P.S. At the end, when the rest of the humans were being escorted onto their ships, I was like "Uhm, that's just dumb, they are just gonna nuke the planet". The movie really lacked a lot of intelligence.

I'm sorry, I just have to comment. You do realize that the story is Pocahontas, right?

I disagree, I thought the story was more like Dances with Wolves meets the Matrix. It was a predictable story, but that didn't bother me in the least, the 3D and beauty of some of the scenes was enough for me.

The story is a very close derivation of the fully written out Pocahontas, not the Disney version. Dances with Wolves is based on the same concept. Not sure sure where you're getting Matrix storyline from, as Avatar is a league below Matrix in that department.

Special effects & scenery are wonderful, however, they are all inspired by the rainforest. It is very apparent that the current masses are completely clueless about the real wonders that grow in the rainforest and the wild in general, hence are awed by special effects in a movie. There is quite a theme from this phenomenon, very interesting.

Do you see propaganda in everything? :D :D
