That's how it works. Again, it's a representative democracy. Centuries of case law have given the representatives certain powers to employ when public health issues arise. They don't go to a referendum for this stuff.

The fact that it's a novel pathogen, not smallpox, cholera or polio etc. does not change their powers granted through the legislative process.

At this point over 95% of those hospitalized for Covid are not vaccinated. This can be seen for the U.S. in the information from KFF -- other countries have provided similar information. This is also a good time to remind you about "base rate fallacy".

What is the difference natural immunity and vaccinated immunity you ask. Well to start with 36% of those infected with Covid-19 do not develop any antibody immunity whatsoever -- as noted in multiple large peer-reviewed studies now including studies posted at the CDC. 100% of those vaccinated against demonstrate anti-bodies directly after vaccination. Anti-body immunity wanes over time for both the vaccinated and those naturally infected. At least with vaccination an individual can get a booster at an appropriate interval to increase their anti-body level so they are protected against Covid. For those naturally infected many lose effective anti-body immunity levels by the nine month mark and can easily be re-infected (as noted in many studies).

When the corporations psuedo-mandate the vaccine is that a mandate? No. Is that a democracy? No. Is a corporation a democracy? No. Why are you talking about democracy? The only person I know personally that has came down with Covid-19 is my sister and she has been vaccinated. That's what I call a real up close study! I guess when she gets old enough she will qualify for a booster shot. That will be far off in the future though it looks like. (I believe you have to be over 65 to get a booster shot at this time)?
