Nice sentiment but what has it got to do with liberals? Unfortunately you are trying to use rational analysis to address a problem caused by irrational voters. Name me the last time the US ever studied a foreign system and implemented it domestically, most Americans couldn't even find Finland on a map.

Sorry but history shows that people are stupid and don't learn except through painful experience of failure. California and the US will have to go much closer to bankruptcy before anyone bothers to lift a finger. Everyone was aware back in 2001-2002 that CA was in fiscal trouble and despite electing a Republican governor spending still grew year on year. No propositions to cut spending or even just hold it below revenue growth.

Polls repeatedly show that a majority supports both lower taxes and higher spending, with this level of innumeracy then the Greek/Argentine outcome is what America will come face to face with.

People get the governments and politicians they deserve.

It has to do with liberals because the second you say those two words "Cut" & "Education" in the same sentence, the liberals will not listen. Liberals believe throwing money at a situation will make it better and cutting money and trying something else can not possibly work.

Also explaining to them that they should keep their kids home until 7 years old will freak them out as thats 2 more years they have to pay for daycare.

Why does it matter what 'Liberals listen to or not' when a Republican is at the helm?

because dems ... gerry mandered (sp) the districts to keep the dems in control of the legislature for what must be since at least the 80s.

I got here in the 80s and those democratic country destroyers in sacramento turned us into a an overpaid govt worker / welfare state to get more democratic votes.
