Retailers will close 12,000 stores in 2009

A Double Whammy as they say.

Most retailer, big & small, are going bye bye. There is a new "for rent" sign on a commercial space in NYC everyday. You can even pinpoint the next shops to go. This is happening across the country too.

Don't be surprised to see empty strip malls everywhere. Commercial is badly overbuilt & overpriced. Retailers are the first shoe to drop.

"Shopertainment" is going to be one of the first victims of the new economy. All those strip malls were destroying the character of our cities anyhow. I mean do you need 20 strip malls within a few blocks all with the same shit.

Near me they are changing the mall entirely, they are building new stores and adding new stores, I just have to laugh and think do they really think giving this mall a facelift is going to bring in more consumers, the answer is NO!!!!

Words to remember you by. You may wish to consider them for your tombstone some day.
