Retail or Clearing

Quote from galiano:

if IB is not the clearing firm. Else REFCO, aka. maybe.

A Guaranteed IB is best u can do for safety, for futures account.

do you know any that offer this guarantee and who is underwriting this guarantee?

i have a bit more in the account than the minimum requirement and therefore a bit concerned that the funds are not insured, I mean if the funds are held in the clearing firm's segregated account, does that mean that if the broker goes belly up, my funds are still there?

For the futures side, there would not be any insurance. IB however sweeps excess funds at day end to the securities account in order for all excess funds to fall under the additional protection of SIPC and insurance.

you don't offer X_Trader platform though?

nope, but I think the TWS or the myriad of front ends available along with the access to so many global markets more than hold their own against it.

Thanks for the offer def, but I only need access to e-minis. Also with X_T ver 7 with chart based trading will make it difficult to switch to another soft.

Now if you were to offer X_T to your clients, I would have thought you would induce potentially quite a few new ones to make a switch over to you.

EDIT: I almost opened an account with you, but when started researching the platforms on offer, TWS just didn't cut it for me.
