RETAIL OPTION TRADER Makes $105MM PROFIT in the NDX, SPX & RUT

Quote from Pekelo:Since the market had a -38% return in 2008, I guess it is possible that if she lost let's say -10-15%, that is a huge positive in the eye of the HF industry. The rest of the years are probably between 20-50%...
I have to think it was more than that for 2008 (down 40% and vol up 200% start to peak). I am also a bit surprised about the last summer - even with the market only down by 6%, she must have faced some serious margin calls given how much leverage she's carrying.

PS. It is possible that she was plain lucky and did not have an active position on at the time.

What brought it to the attn of the TOS guys was that she was leveraging every dollar of net liq. She would put on a thousand contracts, get to within 30-40k, and trade one lots until the "headroom" was exhausted.

Breaking news:

I have found her real name, bio and the name of the charity fund. Anybody interested? :)

Don't be coy.

She's Karen Bruton.

This video was posted on ET months ago. She was outed at that time.

Well, apparently it was news for most of us. I didn't see it back then. Anyhow, can someone explain this filling to me:

http://www.formds.com/issuers/hope-investments-llc

This is her charity fund's filling. Here the 95 million is just a goal, in the video 16 or so months later they are talking about that it is already fulfilled/reached. Did they really trade/raise 95 million that fast, or were they just talking about it as a goal?

Here is their charity page:

As of that Form D filing (March 2011), she had two investors that appeared to have contributed 250K each.

Under typical 506 exemptions, you get a minimum one year lockup and you can only have 35 non-accredited investors.

Of course this is total bullshit. I don't think I would have missed a video like this (right now there are 2 threads discussing it), and making an ET search with her full name brings up one and only (your previous) post.

So I still get the credit. But congrats for knowing it, you probably heard it on some other site....Apparently nobody else did....

I did. (The second link).

Watched the furry TOS guy. Thought, meh, this won't end well.

Chucked at "hey, who is this woman? look at the risk she has on".

Interesting, no skepticism meant--as I have no clue as to the motivations but when I see appeals to god and an African charity organization combined with the financial markets it throws up major red flags. Even Tim Sykes is a backer or founder of some Kenyan Charity.

What's up with the African angle? After reading this book, I am highly suspect of supposed smart folks going down this road.

That is a terrific book. Even Bono has gotten away from pure aid and that business and growth are key for the third world.
