leverage with most of the pro firms is like an American Express card, this is no limit but you have to justify your use of it. If you deposit less in your account and don't have the sheets to back up using a lot of leverage pro firms might be less likely to hand it out

why not just trade futures that way you grt to short on a down tick plus iys easier faster and gives you great leverage
