Researchers Think They Know Why College-Educated People Support The Tea Party

Sadly, I do not have the set nor have I read even most of it. The book I mentioned is just a slim volume, the "lessons". I'm sure the quote refers to most revolutions.

Don't feel bad. I didn't read all of it either. I was mostly interested in the ancient history part.

But now that you bring it up, that set just might make a nice winter project.

I would be willing to pay more in taxes if it actually did any good. Look how many trillions have been spent to fight poverty and improve education to no avail. The assistance programs have created a dependance mentality and encouraged people having children out of wedlock which is a big predictor of future success or lack there of children.

Depends on how the taxes are spent. If whoever refuses to allow sex education to be taught and refuses to give women access to contraceptives, then at least some/many/most of these women are going to get pregnant, and if they denied access to abortions, then they are going to deliver these children.

Unfortunately, Repubs and TPs care only about fetal rights. Once the kid pops out, fuck 'em. They're on their own. No food stamps, no AID, no daycare, no support of any kind. That's not a recipe for success.

Exactly!

Sadly the kids see their parents, many who lack any desire or motivation, and emulate that behavior and follow suit as they become teens. Hang out on the street corner and soon they end up either being a father (who typically will abandon a baby) or a mother who has no means to raise a baby, either financially or emotionally. So we add even more people to the welfare system. I find it amazing that poor kids have iPhones yet come to school hungry. Some have iPads. I fail to comprehend how they afford such things.

How much education do you need to have to know that if you have sex without a condom or other forms of birth control, you are likely to get pregnant? As far as the kid, no, they are not on their own, they have their parents to provide for them. What a novel concept.

C'mon what planet do you live on? Birth control is available to anyone. No one is denied that. Planned Parenthood gives that out to 15 year old kids. And in addition, PP also seems to endorse S&M, bondage, whipping and more.

No ... once a kid pops out they get PLENTY. Who pays for the delivery of the kid? Not the parent. Who provides the formula for the kid? Taxpayers. Who provides a roof over their head? Taxpayers. Who provides food? Taxpayers. Who provides educational opportunities for the kids? Taxpayers. Who provides day care? Taxpayers.

When will you wake up? Taxpayers should not be the sole support of a kid. It's the parents who are the failures. Quit blaming Republicans or TP.

You'd be surprised to know how few kids know where babies come from or how those babies get there in the first place. And if their parents don't explain it to them and their teachers aren't allowed to do so, then all they have is other kids. And as for parents, not all these kids have two parents. And parents of pregnant teenagers have been known to kick them out.

But this isn't just about kids. There are plenty of older women who "ought to know better", but, again, without contraceptives or access to abortion services, we're back where we started.

Thanks for providing the unintended parody of a clueless liberal unwilling to demand even the simplest acts of responsibility from people who want to live off other people's money.

You really are a piece of work.

LOL. I volunteer with kids from grade 4 - 6 .. trust me, they know HOW babies are 'made'.

As far as the 'older' women ... if they CHOOSE to not use protection it shows their stupidity since they have access to birth control. It's out there and available. Many are simply lazy or choose to bang a guy on the spur of the moment. Personally I think we should sterilize any woman (and man) who has 2 children that she (and the father) cannot support and have no means to support.

Post of the decade.

Why do we never hear this from republicans?
