People these days are mainly lost and confused . People are being told what to think and are labelled and grouped instead of making their own individual decisions based in truth and morality (truth and morality now being so clouded and miss-understood) and the state and money now being the new religion.
I think people have been told what to believe since ancient antiquity. How else do you explain religion that has its beginnings probably from 10,000 years ago? Note that I don't mean spirituality, which is natural once you have "consciousness" and "free will", but organized religion that directs 90% or more of the world's population by the nose.
The difference is that the incentives in government were very different until very recently. I rate Reagan as the pivot to a down spiral from which we may never recover. Isn't funny, that Reagan is the GOPs second coming of Christ?

Religion was and still is in a lot of countries the control system and has been for hundreds of years I agree, like I said now the system in the western world has moved away from the church to the state and money worship . Some people are very happy to being told what to do and governed and kept safe by the state and police even if the state and police uses threats and violence against it's citizens , they take comfort in it like a child does with a parent.
ha,ha, They said the exact same thing after we came out of the woodwork and voted straight republican in the 1st Clinton 1994 republican revolution midterm. That's when we were first labeled "Angry White Male" and Dan Rather said we were acting like spoiled school children. We are use to it. Haven't made much progress have we? And I see your side hasn't either.
