Republicans Wave White Flag On Budget, Roll Over On Obamacare

Why do we need these guys anyway? In negotiating, this is termed a preemptive concession. You give up your leverage before the horsetrading starts.

And now that Obamacare has been revealed as a fraud, unworkable, etc, Paul Ryan and his crowd say forget doing anything about defunding it. Take that , Ted Cruz!

Once again republicans grasp defeat from the jaws of victory. Sheesh, now is the time to go all out to kill it. Instead, he says he is ok with it.

I thought Ryan was a loser when Romney selected him. Now I'm sure.

Good for the republicans, this is a sign congress might start functioning for the good of the people.
"Functioning" maybe, NOT for the good of the people though.

Actually, why expend political capital trying to defund Obamacare? Let the thing run it's ruinous course and do all the political damage it can to the idiots who supported it. That's not a half-bad strategy.

Possibly. Could be best if the Dems keep trying to work Odumbocare until all of the warts are exposed and everybody is really pissed off.

Too bad large company plans got the extra year... their mess won't be exposed until after the mid-term election.... would have been better if all of those millions of affected were pissed, too, come November.

give credit where credit is due. it was a shrewd move by obama and democrats who want a one payer government run system.

Because there's no guarantee that's what happens. Name one other big socialist program that has been repealed on the ground it didn't work.

Plenty of loyal democrat voters, aka the takers, will get enormous subsidies under Obamacare. We already pay for their housing, food, schooling (if you call it that), incarceration, phone service, etc. When does it end? We already had medicaid for poor people.

Of course you don't actually have to be poor to get subsidized under obamacare. For a family of four, I think you can earn almost $70,000 a year.

The democrats and media will never admit that it is a failure. Even now they are blaming insurance companies for offering "lousy policies", that somehow 30 million people were happy to keep. Now they will get to pay more for stuff they will never use and have higher deductibles to boot. Those people for the most part were never going to vote democrat however, so obama and his crowd could care less about them.

When you have the chance to put the stake through dracula's heart, you'd better do it. Those chances don't come around that often.

$92K for family of 4.

ObamaCare aims to offer some form of tax credit or subsidy to purchase health insurance to all citizens and legal immigrants below 400 percent of the federal poverty level (about $92,000 for a family of four).

Geez... is it any wonder why we have developed a parasite class of citizens and voters?

Recently saw a TV story where some mother making $70,000/yr was also getting $750/mo in food stamps... admitted she didn't "need" the food stamp money... but she kept taking it and sold @ 40% discount for cash so she could buy drugs.

Amerika, what a country!

:(

Couple of points.

No other socialist program required out of pocket money. SS, Medicare, Medicaid were all entitlements...i.e. something for nothing (well almost, since we pay FICA).

This is going to hit people where it hurts. Not just the premiums, but things like the deductible, not being able to keep your doctor, reduced to fewer hours, possible loss of job.

This thing is a cluster fuck, Its nothing like any other govt program. None.

Even though the employer mandate takes effect after the mid-terms, I'm certain co's will be sending out notices early in the year. Those affected will probably have a good idea of whats coming, and it aint gonna be good.

Why give the dems a chance to change the subject?
