Republicans may vote NO for bail out

Quote from Random.Capital:

Not going to happen. If GOP doesn't (mostly) support this, Dems will not pass it. Leadership in both parties is strictly in re-election mode, they will cover each others asses at the expense of pretty much anything else. Party lines and idealogy be damned.

What gets interesting is the stunt Shelby just pulled - that was a serious throwing down of the gauntlet and just short of a physical slap to the face of the President. This may end up being a right proper non-partisan food fight with GOP/DEM anti-bailers against GOP/DEM bailers.

No one trusts Bush,Paulson,Bernake. Republicans can re take the base if they will just unite and stop this bailout.

What stunt did Sen. Shelby pull?

Quote from Aaron Copland:

Watch what happens now.

Aaron, what do you think happens? I'm confused. I thought it wouldn't pass on Monday that the crooks in Congress would bulldoze it through. so I was pleasantly surprised when it failed to pass. Now i find myself thinking again, that the crooks will succeed on the second attempt.

We shall see. This is a real time test of demoocracy.
