Republican Role Model Devin Nunes Sues Twitter for Allowing People to Insult Him

Attached below is an article from arstechnica.com. The author talks about Nune’s apparent motivations for bringing the lawsuit and potential SLAPP implications. This article also includes some funny Twitter insults regarding Nunes.

If the social media kitchen is getting a little too hot for some of these politicians, perhaps they should seek employment elsewhere. Free speech, as long as it’s truly free speech for all, subject to certain reasonable exceptions such as attorney-client privilege or other privacy obligations, is a fundamental right recognized from the birth of this country.

What this article and others miss is the actual intent of Nunes suit. The intent is not to collect $250 Million - which is just an eye popping number so the media picks up the story; nor is the intent hush up his critics. The actual intent is to obtain discovery material on Twitter's shadow banning practices which are obviously discriminatory and politically biased. With this information in hand Nune can make a clear case that Twitter attempted to improperly impact the 2018 election -- which will lead to significant federal penalties and reform on how Twitter operates.

You're as full of shit as Nunes is. Gosh, you two would have so much to talk about.

We will see how this unfolds. I doubt that Nunes believes he has a chance of collecting money or silencing critics with this suite. The intent is not to win the suit but to force Twitter to turn over information via the discovery process regarding their shadow banning operations which will serve to prove their political bias and deliberate intent to impact the U.S. 2018 election.

Repeating yourself doesn't make it true.

I doubt there will be any Big Reveal about any Twitter wrongdoing. Nunes has just

Haha, c'mon now. He's more likely to be shilling for a competitor that's after the proprietary "algorithms".

Actually it is more likely that Nunes is acting as a front for a conservative organization which is probably funding the suit and the lawyers. The intent is for the law firm to get hold of the discovery material about shadow banning at Twitter to drive their agenda.

There are no "algorithms" of value here for a competitor.
