Report: Verizon (sym: VZ) is blocking Wikileaks stories

When I saw the headline of this post, I was shocked and assumed that Verizon DSL/Verizon FIOS, their broadband services, were blocking customers from accessing WikiLeaks. It now seems that they're only blocking employees access to sites that mention WikiLeaks while the employees are at work. Not really a big deal, it's as much about getting work done as it is a political statement.
 
What if they were blocking Wikileaks all together, why would that be so shocking? A non-governmental organization has the right to do whatever they want. They can block wikileaks freely and there would be nothing wrong with it. A business has the right to refuse service if they like. If they dont want you watching porn sites then they can block them too and there is nothing that any court or government can do about it. Thats just how it is.
