Jonathan Turley on Cohen Flipping: Trump is ‘One Witness Away From a Potential Catastrophe’

  • AIDAN MCLAUGHLIN JUL 30, 2018 9:20 AM
NBC legal analyst and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley warned on Morning JoeMonday that Michael Cohen turning against Donald Trump is legally dangerous for the president.

It was reported last week that Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, claims the president knew about the Trump Tower meeting between Don Jr. and a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign, despite repeated denials.

“I think the Cohen development is very serious,” Turley said. “He’s one witness away from a potential catastrophe. If any of those five witnesses breaks and supports Michael Cohen, this is going to get real bad, real fast.”

Turley said that while the Don Jr. meeting may not establish collusion between the campaign and Russia, the president’s son could be in serious trouble over his claims — under oath — that Trump didn’t know about the meeting.

“It’s not that the meeting will establish a crime of collusion, even if what Cohen is saying is true, but what it would mean is that Donald Trump Jr. would be in serious jeopardy of a criminal charge,” Turley continued. “If Mueller was to go after Donald Trump Jr., I think we would see a very rapid chain of events and it would not end well for anyone.”

He predicted that Trump would “match his past visceral language with similar action.”

“He could start to fire people, and that would have a cascading effect,” Turley said. “It would probably take us right to the doorstep of impeachment.”

Did you not read the twenty posts I have made in the last year saying that when Mueller can not get convictions on Trump he will at least try to kneecap Jared or Don Jr. to hurt Trump's family, because that's how pussies roll when they can't make the big kill?

I guess you dont do any independent thinking on a topic until your lefty news article aggregator source puts it in your mailbox.

'Cohen offered no evidence for his assertion'

You left this part out. Seems to be the case with most the dems claims. High on allegations, low on evidence.

Not impressive.
