Sorry, don't intend to seem argumentive just trying to educate myself.......isn't 1 es contract worth about $64,000 at 1280? then wouldn't that be at $500 day marging like 128 times leverage?
What would the similar scenario be in equities? how much leverage does 1 get trading a $20 stock(trading on his own with his own capital Vs, trading for a reputable prop firm like Bright)?
We really don't concern ourselves with the "amount" of capital used, we monitor risk instead. We allow new traders 5,000 shares max per stock, and 10,000 aggreage...and we don't care if it's a $15 stock or $45 stock, so you can see there is quite a difference in the amount of capital being used. And, again, as you are with us, and participate in strategies that my be capital intensive (openings, pairs, M&A, etc.) we have no problem increasing the amount you can use...but if you want to simply short 5,000 "GOOG" or something silly, we obviously wouldn't allow that.
If you are relatively new (and trained), and send in $1million worth of Opening Only orders, we have no problem with that either. It's not a matter of $$, it's a matter of risk.

I would like that offer also.
