Remember when Obama said the dems needed to find a candidate with "the new car smell?"

Not that I agree with many of his views, but Bernie may have been a better candidate in 2016 than either of the two who ran for the major parties in the Presidential general election.

Oh Bernie is a commie but he likes to go out on the hunt, unscripted, unfunded, odds against him, speak from the gut about stuff he actually believes and is not on the take for any funny money. Not a problem and it is his complete and total right to be a pain in the arse. Just like Ron Paul was at the other end of the spectrum.

Now, the dems can't be as philosophical as I am about Bernie. They better have a plan to deal with him. And it needs to be better than the one they did not have in 2016. When I say "dems" I mean the usual dnc dud type dem. Otherwise, Bernie may already be the voice of the dem party. Who am I to say..........and who is the dnc to say where the core of the party is now? All the energy is definitely over on their left wing.

Hillary would not campaign. But Bernie has never stopped. He has been to Wisconsin and Michigan campaigning for himself and others many, many times SINCE THE LAST ELECTION WAS OVER. He figures the working class vote should be his and that he needs to work for it. Not something Hillary ever believed. She hates those deplorables and thinks she should have just been coronated and not have to be out with the hoi polloi.

Based on what? Giving free shit to people?
Bernie would have folded like a cheap beach chair....to either side. Guys a joke.

Clubber liked him ,
see post #4 , or maybe Clubber simply liked free stuff more than he liked Bernie..

I liked Bernie. Not because he was a socialist - his socialist agenda would have had absolutely zero hope of passing anything. I would have voted Bernie over Trump though - for the sole reason that he would have (most likely) appointed folks hostile to Wall Street and the Fed.

Comrade Bernie thinks in terms of 5-Year Plans, as any good commie does.

Over a five year period, some of his platform has greater-than-zero chance of passing or at least becoming a pillar of the next dem candidates platform. Single payer is an example of such and same.

As I said years ago when Bernie kept having officials from the Danish Health Ministry -or whatever they call it- coming over to Vermont that "you gotta be nuts to think he is not going to be running and you gotta be nuts if you think he is having them come over to show him how to smoke herring."

The rest is history.
