Massive tornadoes were never predicted by the science community as a whole. Maybe a few scientists did but others did not. The IPCC certainly never predicted such a thing. There is no consensus in this area currently. It is becoming more likely that GW will actually reduce tornadoes due to a reduction in the temp diff between the Arctic and the tropics.

There is evidence that hurricanes and typhoons are becoming stronger however since their power is derived from warm water and the water is getting warmer.
