Why is it impossible to focus on trading in Norway? What exactly makes it impossible? Your posting seems bizar to me.
It's certainly not impossible, but I have a lot of family and friends which consume my time. Not to mention my girlfriend...
I'd really like to go nuts for an extended period of time with full focus and no distractions. Also, I like traveling and seeing new countries and have not been doing so much of that in the last few years.
Just go on Airbnb.com and pick a place that fits your budget.
You can send messages to the home/apartment owner and ask for internet speeds.
So the time you spent now on friends and family will be spent on travelling and seeing new countries? So basically you don't gain any time for trading. Will you never go back to your friends and family if trading goes well abroad? Most people have to work 8 hours a day, you can use these 8 hours to trade and still meet friends and family. Just tell everybody which hours you work and don't want to be disturbed. And just leave your girlfriend? She will be happy to hear that.
Are you sure you are not dreamingthat moving will change your trading? And just finding an excuse for not being succesful at this moment? Try to answer that question honestly before doing anything.
America has lots of climates and types
of areas so you can pick what you value. If you want hot, dry, and hedonistic then Las Vegas; if you want cold then New England. If you want hot, dry, but more down to earth: then Phoenix. If you want culture then NYC. If you want hot and humid and hedonism them Miami. There’s something for everyone. I doubt costs will be higher than Scandinavia.

I haven't been around too much, but I do love San Francisco and NYC, but at this point in time, cost of living is most definitely too high there. Las Vegas seems like a place without a soul and I was honestly glad when we left, but we were partying hard, so I'm sure it has other qualities also. Miami is definitely worth considering.

It's just an option I'm considering and hardly a very controversial one. At least from my perspective. If trading goes well, I might very well consider settling down semi-permanently abroad, yes. I've lived in the same city for 10 years now and feel it's time for a change.
8 hours per day is not sufficient for me at this point. I'd like to be completely on my own. Work when I want. Leisure when I want. In Scandinavia it's also a problem that I work when other people are off since I'm focused on American markets (and no, switching markets is not an option at the moment).
There's been so many weekends now where I've wanted to do double all-nighters and just code, build templates and test ideas, but have to turn off the computer at 8 to spend a few hours with friends or my girlfriend.
When you've blown out your account a few times, hopefully your friends and girlfriend will still be there. Get your priorities straight.

Ironic. I spent 3 months there over 20 years ago. Quite an experience. But in my head I realized that I was just a visitor there for those 3 months...I had not "relocated" there. In order to "relocate", wouldn't you need a special visa for the US anyways?
And since you are just looking for a temporary gig, why not try to find a place to rent for the 2-3 months, and use their Internet to trade? Like a Holiday-Inn Express? Or as a previous poster mentioned, an airBnB thing?
For sure, gasoline for your rented vehicle will cost less on this side of the pond. That is a plus.
