Religion is a hypothesis.

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

At least the theist who professes ignorance and nothing but a humble faith in God is intellectually honest,
awww bless...

it all sounds very nice....until .....

Quote from OPTIONAL777:
Both parties are just acting upon faith, which is what makes the atheist like you just as religious as a theist...

At least the theist who professes ignorance and nothing but a humble faith in God is intellectually honest, whereas the blind follower of something he doesn't really understand intellectually or lacks the command of yet claims some superiority over the theist, is as dishonest as one can be......

... it's the theist's own dishonesty which tries to stigmatize others clearly in the misguided hope some credibility will rub off onto his self professed blind ignorant faith, by trying to say people with no faith have faith too.

That way the thestist makes himself intellectually bankrupt.

.....and gets very angry in doing so .....

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

if .......if ..... if ......... iffffffing

1) Hardly
2) I'm not the one confused.
3a) The unwillingness you cite is consciousness specific.
3b) Viewing the situation as an adversarial one is childish and immature born of ignorance.

4) Put a human face on God and you get
Jesus Christ.

5) Because your capacity to see is so limited.

Again, you offer nothing of substance, just another opinion, and a weak one at that. Hey, everyone's got one, welcome to the club. When zealots like yourself take the pious, holier than thou position of, I could explain it to you, but you're too blind to see it, you just drive people away. Your God is that which was created by man and religion for the purpose of controlling the masses through ignorance and fear. Done a damn good job of it too.
My creator is not human at all, has no need to test or judge, has no emotion one way or the other. It is an energy which is beyond human comprehension, but exists none the less and is the very fabric of our universe. All things, living and dead are influenced by this energy. Anything and everything from a living creature to a rock is effected by the energy. Energy exits, both positive and negative. Too think that one can be effected by the positive and not the negative is naive. As thinking beings we have a choice as to which energy we'll feed to ourselves, though it is impossible to completely ignore the other. All other things in nature are subject to these energies and are mostly beyond our control. This is where I stand as of today and have yet to see anything to make me change my mind. Of course, I felt just are sure of myself years ago as a hard line agnostic. I was wrong then, and could be wrong now. The journey for knowledge continues. I rest my case.

Well said Captain,
but I'm still curious. Why you need an imaginary energy friend when all you seem to be doing (to me at least) is describing forces of the Universe itself?
Is there some way in which all the power and glory which is the Universe, is not enough for you?

LOL! My imaginary friend, as you call it, could just be a need to understand it all. I just can't get past the something out of nothing theory of creation. But more than that, if there is no creator, what is the f'n point of all this? There must be some purpose, don't you think?

All the usual ridiculously sophomoric ramblings of the confused.

kut is on my ignore, but from what you quoted on him, as usual, a mortal, limited person who somehow thinks his opinions matter, and are projectable onto an infinite Deity.

A good line from Crocodile Dundee - "it is like 2 fleas arguing over who owns the dog."

You have made assumptions about what I have said that are not accurate.

I offered you nothing more because you rejected that which I previously offered.

Your ignorance (and adversarial attitude) quite frankly are not my problem.
