yeah, i agree with the atheists on the "young earth theory" . that is a bunch of crap. even the bible does not support the "young earth theory" sorry thunderbolt. HOWEVER, the atheists are wrong when they state that the koran has had more impact on the world than the bible. the entire rise of western man and and yes even science can be traced back to the biblical edicts of " dominating nature" and "ruling the earth". just compare mid eastern(koran influenced) industrial/scientific progress to western industrial/scientific progress (bible influenced). the west blows the middle east away. there is a strong biblical influence in western culture, whether the atheists admit it or not, and western culture dominates . correlation ??? it depends what you BELIEVE.

best,

madelyn murray ohare :D

ok cool, but I don't think that was the point. I believe the point being made (by dan was it?) was that a book of faith is as important to one group of people (largely made up of the most intolerant group there is) as the bible is to its adherents. Please correct me if I'm mistaken (about this being the point).

The thing is 'Boat, you either believe in god or you don't. You might not like having the "stigma" of atheism attached to you, but if you don't hold a positive belief in "god", you are an atheist. Atheism is simply the absence of a positive belief in theism (ie, "god"). You either hold such a positive belief, or you don't. There's really no middle ground.

Isn't the "middle ground" to be "agnostic?"

Please correct me if I am wrong (and I mean that sincerely), but were not both the alphabet and algebra "invented" by followers of Islam?

algebra yes (there was an ancient greek who started to come up with it, but all the other greeks only cared about geometry and calculus). wasn't it the Moore's (the Ottomons, who were generally the most enlightened of all muslums perhaps in history) who invented algebra. how much impact algebra alone has had on the world though is in question (especially since it would've been invented anyway, but geometry and calculus allowed the greeks and romans to perform amazing engineering marvels and discover great things about space). but muslums creating the alphabet?????

A simple web search turned up a bit of biblical archeological evidence for all the expert armchair archeologists on ET. Have any of the naysayers actually studied the evidence available on the www?

I especially appreciate the LOTR link and commentary at the bottom.

Does anyone take issue with the assertion made on the site that there is no archeological evidence that disprove the authenticity of the Bible?

A few other sites with bible evidence of one sort or another:

Ummmmmmmmm, I think I prefer to read about archeological
evidence from respectable web sites.

Did you bother reading any of those websites?

The christiananswers.net site had a hilarious account
of how Noahs ark carried DINOAURS!!! LMAOOOO!!! :D

I think that about says it all, concerning christian biased
archeological web sites. What a joke.

But none of this matters.
10,000 years from now archeologists could uncover
evidence for the existence of Benny Hin.

This still would not prove that he had any kind of
healing powers given to him by god.
There would be eyewitness records of people watching
him heal cripples on stage!!! They may even uncover
readable VIDEO of the event, which is far more evidence
than a bunch of silly resurrection stories about jesus.

It still would not be enough evidence to convince a
rational person because it contradicts known reality.
But none of this is relevant anyway.

No one is debating that a CULT existed during roman
times that believed in christ.

Greek mythology contains events and places that
actually existed too.
That doesnt mean that ZUES was real. :D

peace

yep, it's pretty sad. here are some more "facts."

noah's ark had to have had at least 35,000 individual animals on it -- INCLUDING DINOSAURS.

hahahah

there were only 8 people on the boat feeding all the animals for 371 days! lol

if all this isn't ridiculous enough, the size of the ark was 45 feet tall, 75 feet wide, and 450 feet long. how the hell did he get 35,000+ animals, including dinosaurs on that? I WANT AN ANSWER.....NOW. lol

Um, calculus was jointly invented by Liebnitz and Issaic Newton in the seventeenth century, how did the ancient greeks and romans use it??

And no, it was not the "muslims" that "created" the first alphabet, but it was a middle eastern civilization (that was alive 3000 years before Muhhamed made his pilgramage) that created the first written language system that used symbols to depict sounds (letters) instead of using pictoral representations such as the egyptians and chinese had. It is called cuneiform. The greeks did not develop an alphabet of their own for about 1500-2000 years after this writing system was developed.
