... narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.--Jesus Christ, Matthew 7:14

I'm narrow-minded. I'm minding that narrow path which leadeth unto life! This narrow mind can focus and judge an issue through the filter of the word of God.

The unregenerate man thinks that the things of God, including His word, are foolishess. He can't even begin to understand them with his old dead spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

dan,

i am not asking you or anyone to believe in a creator. however, you CAN NOT tell me that some people dont have an innate knowledge of such.

But this does not make said knowledge true.
People in many religions and cults have bizarre
"innate" knowledge of stuff that YOU wouldnt believe either :D

just because you do not have such knowledge, does not mean others do not. i totally understand how it is difficult or impossible for you fathom what i am trying to say. the creator is something i sense intuitively, it seems that the creator has established an ontological priority where he is looking in on us, we are not looking in on him. this is why our logical and rational thought structures do not work when dealing in this realm.

That last part uses circular reasoning surf, and is therefore fallacious.
You claim an unproven creator has attributes which
make logic and reason not apply to him, thereby supporting
his position for existence.

There remains something subtle, intangible and inexplicable. Veneration for this force beyond anything that we can comprehend is my religion.

The wicked call evil good and good evil. All woe unto them if they don't get right with Jesus.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

We despise all reverences and all the objects of reverence which are outside the pale of our own list of sacred things. And yet, with strange inconsistency, we are shocked when other people despise and defile the things which are holy to us.

- Mark Twain, Following the Equator

The Bible will remain forever. The words of some sinner man will never negate what God has said. When you atheists are dead and nothing but dust, God's word will still be around in the world you all love so much.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words SHALL NOT pass away.

Man is a Religious Animal. He is the only Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion--several of them. He is the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and cuts his throat if his theology isn't straight. He has made a graveyard of the globe in trying his honest best to smooth his brother's path to happiness and heaven....The higher animals have no religion. And we are told that they are going to be left out in the Hereafter. I wonder why? It seems questionable taste.

hehe, put up a big name and make 'em pay attention. They don't get much bigger the old Einie! :)

IF there is such a force, an intangible and inexplicable force, this is the one "supernatural" (althought its really not) possibility i am amiable to. a force that does not require explanation, indeed, that CANNOT be explained (by the scientific methods of today). this force does not need to have infinite qualities, and is not immune from the investigations of science. ok. great. no problem with that.

the big problem is that religions seize upon such a concept and try to use it justify their god - who, unlike this force, is given infinite, (and therefore self-contradictory) attributes. there's just no connection between the two at all.
