I don't know that anyone here; not Axeman, not Daniel, certainly not myself; is going to try and PROVE that there is no God. We all admit we don't know.

You, however, DO KNOW there is a God. And no one here can dispute this, for, as I have said, we don't know, and if you are right about there being a God, that's cool with us. Because a just God will be happy with us for living our lives without harming others. Or forcing our beliefs on others.

What we do disagree with, is your using the BIBLE as PROOF. The Bible is not PROOF of anything. It is a book. It is a collection of parables and fables. It is not history. It is not factual. And most importantly, although we do not know who the original authors (plural) were, we do know that it was NOT written by the God it refers to. This should make it irrelevant in a debate about religion. You are talking about your BELIEFS, which is fine. But you think your BELIEFS can be used to prove something. They cannot.

Can (for example) Axeman's beliefs prove anything to you? Why should your BELIEFS prove anything to anyone else?

Your arguments really do tend to go over the edge. The "calendar" argument was a classic. Do you know how many different calendars there are still in use today?

You are preaching here. You are not making any logical arguments. Do you realize that?

I respect you for holding your beliefs sacred. That is a good thing for you obviously. But your beliefs do nothing to make your "arguments" strong. They actually weaken your position. Because you are not using any logic whatsoever. I hope you can see this, but I have a strong sense that you cannot.

I used to feel sorry for them . I remember trying to befriend such an eccentric when I was younger and less embittered than I am now, as he looked hurt by the taunts. He looked me in the eyes and cursed me..... said only God could save me. He wasn't stoned. These types are just bigots I'm afraid, but each to his own, as the millionaire said to the pauper :)

Doctors were washing their hands in a bowl of water and spreading the germs like wild fire. It wasn't until the invention of the microscope and the science of bacteriology that doctors started washing under RUNNING WATER. Leviticus was written around 1490 B.C. SCIENCE WAS ABOUT 3000 YEARS BEHIND! Isn't it embarrassing how science always lags about 2000 years behind that Amazing Book!

Job 38:19, "Where is THE WAY where light dwelleth?" How come Job didn't say where is THE PLACE where light dwelleth? Because light is always moving. How did Job know something in 1500 B.C. that science didn't find out until Einstein? How can the men who wrote that Amazing Book, with their limited scientific knowledge - BE SO FAR AHEAD OF SCIENCE?
