Regarding the Existence or Absence of God

How many books on evolution?<

I've read many on both subjects. Atheism, just plain out lack of intelligence. To be one is to be not very bright and self absorbed. If there is no higher authority--God--then why do we have feelings--a sense of right and wrong. Your big bang theory cannot create that. It's intangible. God gave us a brain to REALLY think these things out. Many deny his presence because of the STRICT lifestyle required by him. Also, many don't like the accountability issue. Which one applies to you? You need not reply--I just want people to think with their minds and hearts. When God measures a man, he wraps the tape around his heart not around his mind--intellect. You can, in no way, impress God with your insignificant self worth.

>Where's the proof?<

If you've ever seen a demonically possessed person, it would be all the proof you need. Laugh all you want, but it's VERY real. Take the time to research the issues I have presented to you and then reply--not until then.

it's all about evidence, my friend. show me any evidence at all when it comes to your religion.. i'll be waiting!

I'm sorry. I can't help you there. It is religion, not science. What you call evidence would be scientific evidence, and I can't give you that, just like you can't give me any evidence of your theory. We might know what it is like to not have been born yet, but I don't think that is any evidence as of what comes after death: time runs in one direction. I could just as well say: "You know what happened yesterday, because you remember it. Therefore you know what will happen tommorrow."

What it comes down to is that whatever comes after death will be nothing like our life or this world. Now if you implicitly assume that this world is everything, since it is everything of which we have evidence, it would be a correct statement to say: "After death comes nothing." Like I said before, I can't argue with that. Being a mathematician, I would even have to prefer this way of talking about human life. But being a mathematician, I also know that everything you can express in an exact or pedantic way, everything anyone can express at all, including everything for which there ever could be any evidence, is just a bunch of mechanisms. It is up to you whether you want to view yourself as more than that or rather stick to what you can express and prove, thereby taking no risk of being wrong.

I a way, atheism is the only "religion" that cannot be proven wrong in this world. It is very much like putting your life savings into physical cash. You can never lose a penny.

I believe in our freedom of religion, but obviously the right religion deserves more freedom. And there can only be one right religion, obviously. Ever see a man get elected to my office without believing in the Lord Jesus Christ? Of course not! If God intended us not to have a Christian president, he would have let Gore win the election to pave the way for Joe Lieberman. But it didn't happen. And maybe it was divine intervention that my brother was the governor of Florida at the time to assure this did not happen.
your religious beliefs make you look like a TOTAL WEIRDO!!!!! i really do feel sorry for you...that was simply pathetic.

actually, time doesn't even exist and there is no "one" time. read a science book or two. obviously you haven't read much in this area or you wouldn't be believing your religious nonsense.

You are not American, are you? And you don't seem to read American newspapers or watch American TV either. While that is an admirable decision, let me clue you in on this one: George W Bush is currently the president of the United States of America. The post you are trying to trash was a facetious political attack on him and the circumstances under which he became president of that nation.

Of course, you won't find that in a theroetical physics publication. And I agree with you that it is probably better to read about science than politics.

Do you mean there is one particular thing that you know and I don't? If so, disregard this post. Otherwise I would like to know the metric you use to measure knowledge "about current events and culture" and also how you came to your conclusion about the distance between the two of us in the generated space.
