Refrigerator now BARELY cooling...

I have a friend that used to work on binary load lifters which are very similar to evaporators. You want me to call him.

(he a bit of an odd duck)

It is cooling almost none, maybe none at all. The freezer next to it is still working, maybe that is the only thing keeping the refrigerator a bit colder than room temperature.

It is about 6 or 7 years old. Samsung model.

I there any way I can try anything to get it working again? Or should I call some repair guy? Or don't waste time, just ante up and buy a new one?

Thanks!
Check out YouTube. You can find information on just about anything there if you look hard enough.

I half-ass remember this happening to ours.
There was a little button in back that popped to protect the compressor.
The reason it popped, the condenser coil which is in front down by the floor, (it has a snap off plastic cover so you can get to it) was blocked with dust and some dog hair. There's a fan behind it that draws air through it. I just hit it with the little narrow vacuum attachment and got as much as I could (dry), and then used a spray bottle and sprayed hot water/dish-soap all over it and then sucked that up with a shop-vac using that same attachment. Cleaned it perfect. Now I just pop that cover off every few months and run the vacuum over it real quick. I had no idea its a regular maintenance kind of thing.
