Refco subsidiary (RTS?) freezes customer accounts

Quote from OldTrader:

Rockford:

Now, here's a fact: segregated funds in a futures account can be used to offset a large loss from a single customer. But in this case we do not know that it applies. Therefore, it is not a fact in this particular case. It's just something that happens to be true about all futures accounts. Yet, you seem to draw certain conclusions based on this idea.

At one point Rockford you accused me of "speculating" about Refco.

You are 100% wrong here. "Speculation" would not describe it at all. I prefer to stick to the facts. For instance, one fact that we know pertaining to the futures acounts is that the exchanges such as CME, CBOT, and NYMEX have all issued statements that the segregated funds are correct and intact at this point. This would seem to contradict YOUR "speculation" regarding the possible "large losses" in the regulated futures area.

OldTrader

Exactly.

Quote from jimrockford:

I wasn't financially injured by Refco, but I do have reason to be pissed. One of Refco's business associates, Apex Capital, has spearheaded Refco's defense on these bulletin boards. He has, for example, repeatedly posted false claims that segregated customer funds in futures accounts are guaranteed against loss. He has also, in the course of his efforts, posted false statements personally attacking me. I think I have the right to defend myself.

For someone that does not have an account, personal or professional at REFCO, has not been injured by REFCO in any manner whatsoever . . . you sure are obsessed with carrying a torch against this company.
In fact, it's almost to the point of being completely hysterical.

Do you always spend so much effort and time lashing out at someone that you have never met in person, on an anonymous chat board in the Internet Sky?

As for me, it is quite obvious that you are also obsessed with me as well . . .
At no time did I ever state on Elitetrader that I had CLIENT FUNDS clearing thru REFCO. Thus, your statement that I have "wrecklessly breached my fiduciary duty" to my clients "by entrusting their funds to a futures broker with a history of embezzling customer funds" is completely, and ABSOLUTELY FALSE.

Apparently, your current obsession with carrying a torch against REFCO has blinded you from entertaining the fact that my PERSONAL account currently clears thru REFCO, but none of my professional accounts do, nor have they ever since I became a registered CTA with the NFA.

As you are well aware, I have private messaged you in an attempt to show you ( as you have asked in a previous post ) where you posted incorrect and highly inflammatory and misrepresentative statements about me as a CTA. Yet you have failed to acknowledge your errors. You and your ego obviously have a great deal of trouble admitting that you are wrong. In my opinion, your constant battles with several others on this thread is quite telling.

Most people would extend an apology and a complete retraction given the absurd assumptions, inferences, and suppositions that you have made here on ET concerning me as a CTA. But trust me when I tell you that I am not holding my breath for one. I have better things to do with my time.
