Redirection Virus

A redirection virus on my computer is impossible to get ride of. I have tried all anti viruses, malware, spyware etc. I just can't seem to get rid of it. I have tried all of the techniques Hijackthis logs, registry fix, even going through my computer to delete suspicious files.

It is impossible to get rid of. Nothing seems to get rid of this virus, which makes me think anti viruses are pointless. I have ordered a new hard drive. In the future I will use a dual boot and go on the internet with linux this way I will not get viruses as linux is used in moderation so there is no point to make viruses because so few people use it.

Have you experienced this.
 
Yeah, I had that before. It kept redirect me to porn. I didn't notice it at first, but after a few days, I then realize I have a virus and needed to format my hard drive, and start fresh. :p

I switched back from using Google Chrome to Firefox, because it has the No Script add-on. Also, I installed ZoneAlarm and Spybot-SD afterward. Things are fine now.

I am considering getting an external hard drive for all important files. Gonna just use the internal hard drive for the usual OS and other downloadable programs.

Relax morgan, read Lucrum link I think malawarebyte is the one to get rid of the redirect. I had the same problem but others virus also and had a hard time downloading anything, if you just have the redirect all should be back to normal quickly.

ps. I have a Lenova laptop. The brand has a button on it called Lenova care. Push the button and it wipes the computer clean and re install factory setting in about 2 hours. Greatest thing I've ever seen.
 
why the freak out and ordering a new drive?

worst and probably extreme case, you do a low level format of your current drive and reinstall.


you should be doing image cloning of your drive at least one a month or more often anyhow.
 
Update or disable Java plugin .... regardless of IE/Firefox/Chrome, many computers have been infected the past few months by a new java exploit. Fixed in the lastest version of Java.
 
is this the search engine hijack virus? i had that infection and it is the f*cking most stubborn pain-in-the-ass virus ever. i tried 4 different scanners including avg, malwarebytes and combofix. i ran them in normal mode and in safe-mode, and they still didn't work!!! i followed a number of step-by-step guides and gave up.

the final solution was to reformat and reinstall everything.

i wanna find the mofo author of this virus and tear off his toenails bit by bit then stick needles into his eyes
