Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) “has reappointed a judge who lost his re-election after denying a teenager an abortion, citing her school grades,” Insider reports.
“Jared Smith lost re-election as a judge on the Hillsborough County Court in August, with abortion rights activists backing his opponent, the Tampa Bay Times reported.”
“However, on Tuesday DeSantis appointed Smith to serve as a judge on the newly created Sixth District Court of Appeal.”

Idaho state Rep. Jack Nelsen (R) compared women’s health to having “milked a few cows,” the Idaho Statesman reports.
Said Nelsen: “I’ve milked a few cows, spent most of my time walking behind lines of cows, so if you want some ideas on repro and the women’s health thing, I have some definite opinions.”
Nelsen later apologized and said he was “embarrassed” that he suggested his experience as a “lifelong dairy farmer” offered him insight into reproductive issues.

The GOP is signaling their plan to restrict pregnant women's right to travel between states. This also means that all pregnant women must register with the government.
