There are two ways to look at it: on one hand, the fact that they have a reported radiation leak in one of the most advanced countries on Earth, with a highly-disciplined and educated staff and renowned design skills, further hurts confidence in nuclear power in general, especially in the "less disciplined" countries;

on the other hand, the fact that those reactors sustained one of the biggest quakes in recorded history with only minor problems (so far) so close to population centers is a testament to their safety and design integrity.

Obviously they'll be selling the former -- disasters and explosions and tragedy are much more enticing to the vile scum selling the media. It's better "news" to talk about a single plane crash than about the 3 billion passengers that travel safely every year. But the real story is that the problems in Japan aren't a whole hell of a lot worse.

If you mean he is another Jimmy Carter, I agree 100%!!!!!!! Energy, and Inflation problems to come that imo rival Jimmy Carter's days...:eek:
 
1. Chernobyl personifies as a case study how socialism will both leverage technology and disregard humanity simultaneously.

2. Nuclear waste is not a scientific paradigm - that issue is completely resolved. Please google the terms "France Electricity Energy" and "US Navy Aircraft Carriers and Submarines" before you retort.

3. Of all the hazards in the universe, I am the most comfortable with radiation. We can measure radiation down to a singular quantum event. Before you retort, please Google "Lawrence Livermore Laboratory', or "argonne national laboratory", or the European "Cern".
