I've been admiring your trading prowess for a while now (as a lurker) and finally thought I should thank you for sharing. My curiosity has also aroused a few questions:
How long did it take you to become profitable?
What is the minimum amount of capital --in your opinion-- that would be required for your strategy? Did you ever use a different strategy when you had less capital? (If you started with less, that is.)
I apologize if you've answered these questions before, and if --for any reason-- you find it unfitting to answer these that's fine, you share a lot already. Thanks again for sharing.
Hello BBroken,
Thanks. I have been trading for about 25 years with some profitable and some not. I changed my trading style in 2002 and that made a lot of difference. Books like Tom Demark helped a lot as well.
Its a work in progress and thats why I post my trades. As I have become more comfortable with my signals I have increased the size of the trades.
I would not feel comfortable with any less than 30K with this style and it requires the account to be approved for PDT.
With this strategy I have always had more than 28K to trade with but I also traded less size than I do now.
I have used other strategies with less capital without success (due to my personality and not other reasons). I am currently working on a trend following strategy that could use a lot less money and hopefully will not need to daytrade but thats probably another month out before actual money is used and it gets posted here.
Somewhere along this thread is a more full theory behind my madness...
Best of trading to you
