Recommend news based event driven EA?

Which vendors provide such data, and for how much?
I haven't researched it much but both Bloomberg and Reuters used to have it. Don't know pricing(about $3k/mo I heard), but you need to have HFT-like infrastructure to take advantage of it, otherwise you can just read it a few seconds later for free :)

@qlai - Thanks for the clarification. For context, I am not looking to compete with HFTs on the second/micro/nano level. Just looking to close the gap in the middle between HFTs & most other market participants. I know it is being done as many of the trades in my niche area are occuring with speed only possible by automation, and the position sizes are too small to represent "major" players. Just wondering "how" it's being done and how far a small individual retail trader has to go to get that level of automation. Thanks again for the explanations of everything! :D

@DaveV - Thanks for your breakdown on everything. I will check out IQFeed! For what it's worth, over time I have fine tuned my Boolean logic to the point where 90% of the noise is filtered and the headlines I receive are tradeable IF you understand that niche space. Machine readable feeds can come with or w/o sentiment analysis. Here is a fact sheet link for Thomson Reuters on some flavors of their MRF (machine readable feeds): https://www.refinitiv.com/content/d...t-sheets/machine-readable-news-fact-sheet.pdf
They run a few thousand a month - outside my range lol. Hope it helps, and if you have other insights that come to mind lemme know!

What 2 or 3 places do you recommend to see the news for free? I know many brokers offer this freely, but in my experience the news is delayed by +30-120 seconds or more. Thanks!

I don't trade on news, so don't really know. ToS has many sources. I compared it to some paid services (like Briefing) and it was surprisingly close, but very inconvenient to use and some are delayed more than others. Imho, if you hope to get any edge from publically available news, you will need to pay good money for it and, most likely, best/timely sources will not even be available to retail clients. What's new!? :)

Hi ET!

Can someone recommend me an automated trading software/platform that:
  1. Live streams press releases & SEC filings, has triggers based on keyword & SEC form type, and then automatically executes trades on the symbol in the release based on parameters (price, volume, time, etc) I set with my broker.
  2. Is pre-built "off the shelf" so I don't have to program code (would be open to coding in the future).
  3. Works with Interactive Brokers for U.S. equities including ADR/ADS.
  4. Ideally, does not require a machine readable feed, but am open to this if necessary.
*I currently use Eikon that offers all this functionality except for the automated part. Other platforms offer manual linkage to the broker but I still have to manually make the trade or they offer exactly what I'm looking for but for Forex, Futures, and Binary Options (none of which I trade).

Sorry if this has been covered before, first post, I researched this before posting but couldn't find the solution, please don't kill me, and thanks for your opinion! Happy (profitable) Wednesday! :D
As others have suggested, you are trying to play in a space that is very crowded/ competitive at the institutional level. To believe that you will be profitable as a retail trader in this crowd with all their resources is a long shot to say the least. My two cents would be to explore different strategies. Good luck.

I used TOS too! It was actually quite fast, but lacked the alerting/functionality needed to act on the information. I currently pay for all my news information as a result. Thanks again for all feedback; appreciate it.

Eikon :D , but as far as free broker info forsure TOS, I know IB has a ton of decent free news, but my goodness - acting on that information with their interface/functionality looool :(
