Rebate trading.

Quote from EpiphanyTrading:

How is SwiftTrade? What is their pricing model?

execution fee $0.119 per order

For US markets:

clearing fee $0.065 per 1000 shares capped at $0.28 per fill
SEC fee $0.0000153 * share * price (or 0.0000153 x aggregate price of sell order)
Activity fee $0.0000307 * share * price (or 0.0000307 x aggregate price of sell order)
+ECN costs/rebates

depends on which country...

Ho takes around 30% from the office...

the remaining 70 gets split different from country to country... china 10% to trader, Canada 35% to trader...

Quote from SethArb:

I thought this "gimmick" ( rebates )

was going to stop due to some reg. action this yr?

or do certain prop shops and ecn's still promote this and do some people just make money doing this on stocks under $5 or under $2 , etc
without ever learning how to trade ?

:p

Well, if they are doing that, and taking profits, then I would assume they can be called "traders". Or is there any other defenition diferent from someone "who buys and sells securities in order to achieve a profit"?

Credits were a lot of fun before NMS… nowadays too much volume is internalized… could be a fun game again if a trade-at-best-price rule or something similar comes around and gives priority to displayed liquidity…
